Illinois is weird
So get this:
We may have a special election to fill Barack Obama’s vacant US Senate seat. It turns out that the legislature doesn’t trust Governor Rod “Testicular Virility” Blagojevich to fill the position - being a crook and all.
Today my Representative, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, announced she’d run if the special election, if it comes to pass. Assuming she wins (she’s a great candidate - I’d vote for her), her House seat will sit vacant waiting to be filled by … the Governor.
I guess she’s hoping he will have resigned or have been impeached by then.
