Catchy and noisy - Good Stuff!

tuneage:

Best Coast - “Something in the Way

With good fuzz-rock, there’s something in the way (see what I did there?) the melody sneaks through the feedback and the noise that I just love. It’s almost like the music wants you to work a little harder to really get something out of it. And Best coast play good fuzz-rock. More accurately, the band combines their good fuzz-rock with the feeling of surf-rock and summer, and the title track from their latest 7”, Something in the Way, epitomizes this combination. The drums that might as well be hand-claps, the simple, surf-rock hook hiding just below the surface fuzz, and the 60s, girl-group-inspired heartache lyrics…I’m into all of it. I’ve been singing the chorus in my head for days, and after my third listen already this morning, I’m showing no signs of stopping. Bill
