I wish I had something good to say about Healthcare
I wish Hillary Clinton and Rahm Emanuel were in Congress beating the drum on actual health care reform reform instead of trapped and impotent behind the White House.
It’s aggravating that the only “reform” being proposed tries to curtail some of the worst moral failings of the insurance industry while attempting to address the problem of the uninsured and under-insured without contemplating a better system. Are we just arguing over how to make a bad system suck less?
Yet, we still have to listen to this uninformed bullshit about “Socialism” and “Nationalizing Healthcare” when the options on the table don’t offer any of the advantages of real, universal, government funded care.
I imagine that’s what makes this a difficult fight for Democrats in Congress to fight. Unless you’re fighting against Obama or for the Insurance lobby, there’s not really much worth fighting for.
I don’t know how you can have a reasonable debate with people that want to brand you a socialist, terrorist non-citizen. Frankly, I want to see more Bush (43) out of Obama right now than the cool, agreeable guy we elected. I can’t help but feel that President Hillary Clinton wouldn’t have played it this way. I’ll take 8 years of Obama, but I think that at least one more Clinton administration wouldn’t be such a bad thing.
And finally, I won’t support any health care reform bill until it includes some sort of counseling for Glenn Beck.
